Forward Michael Bunting’s second stint in the NHL has come to an end as the Arizona Coyotes have assigned him to the Tucson Roadrunners.
The news comes one day after the announcement of a trade with the Anaheim Ducks that sent defenseman Trevor Murphy to California in exchange for forward Giovanni Fiore.
Bunting’s second NHL stint lasted three games, but the 23-year-old only played in one of them with 9:36 TOI and one hit in a 2-1 loss against the Los Angeles Kings Dec. 27.
In 2017, Bunting tied for the team lead in Tucson with 23 goals.
He has accumulated 53-61-114, 164 PIM and a +24 +/- rating in his AHL career.
He is the first player in Coyotes history to wear No. 58.
