Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy has declined an interview request for the head coaching position with the Arizona Cardinals, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Bieniemy will instead interview with the New York Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins and Cincinnati Bengals.

He was one of six head coaching candidates who have been linked to the opening in Arizona after the Cardinals fired coach Steve Wilks on Monday.

A former running backs coach by trade, Bieniemy spent his first season as Chiefs OC in 2018, leading the NFL’s most productive offense in terms of yards per game (425.6) and points per game (35.3). He took over for former offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, who left a year ago and led the Chicago Bears’ turnaround from a 5-11 season in 2017 to a 12-4 finish this year.

Bieniemy joins former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy as those who, according to reports, do not appear interested in landing in the desert.

The Cardinals have requested interviews and will meet with former Dolphins head coach Adam Gase, Rams quarterbacks coach Zac Taylor, USC offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury and Saints assistant head coach/tight ends coach Dan Campbell, according to multiple reports.
