Ever since he was drafted by the Suns back in 2015, Devin Booker has forged a strong bond with basketball fans in the Valley and all across Arizona.
On Friday, Booker announced that he would be giving back to these fans in a big way, as he revealed that he will be donating $2.5 million to Suns Charities over the next five years.

According to Booker, he and the Suns Charities Board of Directors will select a group of five non-profit organizations per year, which they are calling the “Starting Five”, and give them each $100,000 to help further their efforts in helping Arizona kids and families in need.
“As a leader, I feel like it’s my duty and my responsibility to give back to the community that we represent,” Booker said at the Suns’ “The Jump Ball” gala, where he made his announcement. “A lot of people look at basketball as just a bunch of guys that make a lot of money out there on the court, and it’s not that. It’s a lot bigger than that for us.”
On Twitter, Booker called the donation his favorite accomplishment of his career, and said that he is “blessed to be in the position to be able to give back and make an impact here on the community in Phoenix”.

This is not the first time that Booker has used his platform for good, as he previously partnered with non-profit charity Baby2Baby during All-Star weekend in Los Angeles last year to provide school supplies and clothes to kids in need.
