Arizona State Sun Devils head coach Bobby Hurley enjoys having conversations with referees. Most of those conversations involve Hurley raising his voice, to say the least.
So even when something unpredictable happens, such as getting hit in the face with a basketball, the only thing still on his mind was a previous decision made by an official.
That was proven to be the case on Thursday night.
In overtime against the Arizona Wildcats, an attempted dribble-handoff between ASU guards Luguentz Dort and Remy Martin was deflected and nailed Hurley right in the face.
Hurley took a rough fall backward, but immediately shot up and took advantage of the official’s positioning to complain about an occurrence on the other end of the court.

The emotions paid off for Hurley, who got his first career win against Sean Miller and Arizona 95-88.
