The New England Patriots on Sunday won their sixth Super Bowl title in franchise history, and a pair of players who went to college in Arizona got to add to their trophy cases.
UA’s Rob Gronkowski and ASU’s Lawrence Guy won their third and first Super Bowl titles, respectively, and played significant roles in the Patriots’ 13-3 win over the Los Angeles Rams.
Gronkowski caught 6 passes for 87 yards and was the Patriots’ second-leading receiver.
“Gronk” caught one of the most important balls of the game in the fourth quarter — a 29-yard strike from Tom Brady — to set up the game-winning touchdown.

Guy played a big role on a Patriots defense that didn’t allow the Rams and offensive wunderkind Sean McVay to score a touchdown.
Guy finished with two tackles and a quarterback hit.
Gronkowski starred at Arizona during the 2007 and 2008 seasons while Guy played for the Sun Devils between 2008 and 2010.
