The Arizona Coyotes captain just went to the top of the franchise record book in goals by a defenseman.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson, who has played for the Coyotes his entire nine-year career, notched his seventh goal of the season on Monday against the Dallas Stars.

The tally gave Ekman-Larsson 109 total goals for his career surpassing Teppo Numminen who scored 108 goals in 15 season with the franchise during his time with the Winnipeg Jets and Phoenix Coyotes.

Ekman-Larsson’s tenure included four seasons with the Phoenix Coyotes before they changed the name was changed to the Arizona Coyotes.

His best season in terms of scoring goals came in 2014-15 when he notched 23 goals in 82 games.

Numminen never scored more than 13 goals in a season with the Coyotes.
