On Thursday afternoon, the Scottsdale Police Department arrested the man who allegedly stole Diamondbacks reliever Archie Bradley’s golf clubs more than a week after they originally went missing.
Andrew J. Burtoni, 32, was arrested by the Scottsdale Police Department near his home in Mesa at around 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Bradley’s clubs were taken on Jan. 30, when he was playing in the Waste Management Phoenix Open Pro/Am.
According to police, the clubs were recovered on Jan. 31 in Gilbert and returned to Bradley on Feb. 3
At one point, Bradley believed that he had found his golf clubs for sale on the auction site OfferUp soon after they were stolen, but it turned out to be a fake post using a picture of his clubs taken on an earlier date.
The D-backs pitcher got his golf bag back on Monday and tweeted a picture with it.
🚨UPDATE🚨 Super Sunday Delivery! Can’t comment much due to investigation. But clubs and everything in it were found and are at home where they belong! Thank you to everyone who helped with all their tips! pic.twitter.com/pAHVmWato1
