The Arizona Diamondbacks have reportedly added to their pitching staff just days before pitchers and catchers report to spring training.

USA Today’s Bob Nightengale reported Friday that the team signed Michael Kohn to a minor league deal.

Nightengale added that Kohn will make $625,000 if he makes the big leagues this season.

Kohn, a right-hander, was originally drafted by the Angels in the 13th round of the 2008 draft. He made his MLB debut in 2010 and spent parts of four big league seasons in five years there before heading to the Braves in 2015. That year in Atlanta was the last time he pitched in a Major League Baseball game.

In 132 big-league outings (all relief appearances), Kohn has a 3.52 ERA. Most recently, he pitched six games for the 2015 Braves, going 4.2 innings and not allowing a run. For his career, he owns a 1.417 WHIP.

In 2017, Kohn pitched to a 1.38 ERA between three levels of minor league baseball in the Twins organization: rookie ball, high-A and Triple-A.

He is 32 years old.

Last season, the D-backs similarly added pitching depth before spring training by signing Fernando Salas and Kris Medlen to minor league deals, among other players. Those two arms in particular would go on to pitch in the big leagues for the D-backs in 2018.

Pitchers and catchers will conduct their first spring training workout of the 2019 season on Wednesday, Jan. 13.
