Arizona State taking down the previously-undefeated Washington Huskies was a nice bounce-back game Saturday.
It’s just a question of whether it bounced them back into NCAA Tournament brackets.
ASU’s 91-70 home loss to Washington State on Thursday looked like at-large bid killer the day of. The Sun Devils entered last week with a NET ranking of 60th in the country, on the right side of the bubble. But a home loss to a team that doesn’t win on the road wasn’t completely negated by beating Washington. After those two games, ASU still fell 12 spots in the NET ratings, and that’s well outside of the bubble.
The good news is that the weekend didn’t harm the Sun Devils in human-built brackets as much as it did by the computers’ standards.
ASU is still in 65 of 98 brackets tracked by BracketMatrix.com as an average No. 11 seed.
With the help of BracketMatrix.com and the NCAA’s website, here’s a look at the NCAA Tournament résumé for ASU, and where the Sun Devils are being projected heading into a road trip through Colorado and Utah.
