The Arizona Coyotes are in the hunt for the playoffs.
Their best chance at it will be via the Western Conference Wild Card race, which has shrunk to the Coyotes and Colorado Avalanche fighting for the final playoff spot in the final week of the season.
After a loss to the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday, their odds shrunk dramatically and left only a tie in points possible.
The top two teams will earn Wild Card spots in the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, so the Coyotes must finish second or better to qualify.
Tiebreakers are tight if it comes to that. But in the standings, here are where things currently sit in the Western Conference:
Place | Team | Record | Points | Last Game | Up Next | Games left |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 42-31-7 | 91 | 6-2 W vs. PHI | April 5 vs. CHI | 2 | |
2 | 37-29-14 | 88 | 6-2 W vs. EDM | April 4 vs. WPG | 2 | |
3 | 38-34-8 | 84 | 3-1 L vs. LAK | April 4 at VGK | 2 |
