Spring training allows for everyone in baseball to have a little more fun than usual.

During a regular season game, Red Sox outfielder and reigning American League MVP Mookie Betts would not be talking about his golf swing with the announcers while playing in right field.

But this is spring training, so why not?

In the second inning with two runners on, Betts was having a conversation through his earpiece and microphone to the crew calling the game. Betts’ golf game came up and he demonstrated in right field how he was lining up his swing.

The conversation continued with Betts again showing a visual, and at some point, one of his teammates must have looked back at him clueless as to what he was doing.

Betts didn’t break at all, letting his teammate know everything was fine before continuing the breakdown of his chip game.

On the third pitch of the at-bat, though, the ball was hit into the corner and he had to run it down.

Betts got to the ball, threw it in, and once he had a few seconds to regain himself, went right back to his instructional video on how you’re supposed to chip in golf.

He also gave the play-by-play on his own catch earlier in the inning.

There were also his antics during a pitching change with his outfield mates, including Jackie Bradley Jr.’s tennis swing.

Nothing like spring training.
