Arizona Cardinals free agent guard Mike Iupati will sign a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks, according to multiple reports.
Iupati, who turns 32 in May, has spent his entire career in the NFC West.
Drafted in the first round in 2010 by the San Francisco 49ers, Iupati spent five years in the Bay before calling the Valley home for the last four seasons.
In his tenure as a Cardinal, the former Idaho Vandal made one Pro Bowl and was named a Second-Team All-Pro, both in 2015. He also started 42 games including the playoffs over his four years in Arizona.
Injuries plagued Iupati the last two seasons specifically.
After starting 14 and 15 games including the playoffs in 2015 and 2016, respectively, Iupati was only able to play 16 games combined in 2017 and 2018.
Coincidentally, the 2015 season saw Iupati stretchered off CenturyLink Field in Seattle with a neck injury before returning the following week against the 49ers on the Cardinals’ run to the NFC Championship Game.
The Cardinals are reportedly adding free agent guards J.R. Sweezy and Max Garcia to the team.
