Phoenix Suns guard Tyler Johnson missed Saturday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans due to a sore right knee.
Rookie De’Anthony Melton started for Johnson at point guard for his 26th start of the season.
Troy Daniels started in place of Johnson on Friday in the Suns’ loss against the Houston Rockets.
The 26-year-old Johnson is ranked second among the Suns in assists this season with 4.2 apg, and is the fifth-leading scorer (11.1 ppg) in 13 games played.
The Suns have won four of their last seven games prior to Saturday.
Forward Richaun Holmes also missed the game, due to a quad strain he suffered during Friday’s game. Both Holmes and Johnson are listed as day-to-day.
Holmes, in his third year out of Bowling Green, is averaging 8.0 ppg, 1.1 bpg and 4.6 rpg in 16.4 minutes as a rotation player.
