Add another scratch for the Phoenix Suns. Forward Kelly Oubre Jr. (thumb sprain) is out for a Monday home game against the Chicago Bulls, the team announced after shootaround.
The starting forward joins starting guard Tyler Johnson (sore right knee), backup center Richaun Holmes (right quad strain) and forward T.J. Warren (sore right ankle) on the sideline.
Oubre has been a spark plug for a team that has gone 6-4 over its last 10 games. In the 12 games as a starter, a role he took over following the All-Star break, Oubre has averaged 20.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game.
Phoenix can replace him with either Josh Jackson or Mikal Bridges.
Johnson, meanwhile, will miss his third straight game. Coach Igor Kokoskov has replaced him based on matchups, going with shooting guard Troy Daniels against the Houston Rockets Friday and then turning to rookie point guard De’Anthony Melton on Saturday in a win against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Holmes will miss his second straight game, opening the opportunity to power forward Ray Spalding, who provided eight points, four rebounds, two blocks and two assists in just 15 minutes of action Saturday in New Orleans.
Warren has missed 22 straight games due to a bone bruise in his ankle.
Monday’s Suns game will air on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station at 7 p.m.
