The Phoenix Suns have waived two-way guard Jawun Evans, the team announced Saturday.
Evans, 22, signed a two-way contract on Dec. 7 and averaged 1.4 assists per game in seven appearances with the Suns.
The Houston Rockets are expected to make a waiver claim on Evans, per The Athletic’s Michael Scotto.
Most of his game action came with the Northern Arizona Suns, where he averaged 15.1 points per game and 5.8 assists per game in 32 games.
The move comes after the Suns signed former BYU star and NBA veteran Jimmer Fredette to a contract on Friday through the end of the season.
Phoenix returns to action Saturday night against the Sacramento Kings. You can listen to the game on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
