The staff of ArizonaSports.com has compiled their list
of the top 25 Arizona sports stories of the year 2011.
We’ll be unveiling them over the next couple of weeks, all
leading up to the top story of 2011.

Coming out of a lengthy labor stoppage, the Arizona
Cardinals had a long list of priorities to get done before
their 2011 season opener.

One item near the top of the list was to lock up receiver
Larry Fitzgerald to a long-term deal.

Fitzgerald had been a picture of consistency since
entering the league as a rookie in 2004; four straight
1,000 yard seasons and four straight trips to the Pro
Bowl. He had already become the franchise’s leading
receiver after just seven years in the league.
