After getting cut from the Arizona Cardinals in August, wide receiver Rashad Ross made his way to the Alliance of American Football.

He may have impressed enough with the Arizona Hotshots to get another chance in the NFL.

The Carolina Panthers are expected to sign Ross, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. With the AAF folding, players are allowed to speak to NFL teams.

In eight games on the Hotshots, Ross had 36 catches for 583 yards and seven touchdowns. He had two games of more than 100 receiving yards, one of which was a seven-reception, two-touchdown day.

Ross played two years at ASU before entering the 2013 draft. He went unselected, eventually signing onto the Tennessee Titans practice squad.

He spent the next five years bouncing around the league. During different points, Ross was part of the Kansas City Chiefs, Washington Redskins, Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Chargers, Detroit Lions, San Francisco 49ers, Buffalo Bills, and, from Dec. 2017 until Aug. 15, 2018, on the Cardinals.

Ross has appeared in 20 games, according to NFL.com, all of which came between 2014-16.

As an NFL player, he has nine receptions for 192 yards and one touchdown and 34 kick returns, one of which he took to the house.

On the Panthers, Ross would join a wide receiver core currently led by DJ Moore and Torrey Smith.

Carolina went 7-9 last season and were second in the NFC South.
