ASU football sets dates for annual Camp Tontozona

The Arizona State football team announced Wednesday it will take its annual trip to Camp Tontozona for preseason practice from Aug. 5-10.
Every year, the ASU football team heads to the camp just outside Payson to increase team bonding and prepare for the upcoming season. This year’s camp will be the second under the direction of head coach Herm Edwards.
The camp is scheduled to open up with practice on Aug. 6 and wrap up with the annual final practice on the morning of Aug. 10.
Camp T’s roots date back to 1960 when former ASU head coach Frank Kush first took the team. Since then, ASU has considered Camp T as the unofficial start to its football season.
Last season, the Sun Devils were not able to practice at the camp after bad weather delayed the renovations being done to the facility.
