When the Phoenix Suns lost Channing Frye in free agency to the Orlando Magic, the team needed to find a replacement, someone who is big and can stretch the floor.

The Suns may have found a player to fill that role when they signed forward Anthony Tolliver on a two-year, $6 million deal, which is significantly less than the four-year, $32 million deal Frye signed.

Tolliver, who has played both small forward and power forward in his NBA career, has taken more three-point shots than two-pointers.

Here’s a look at Tolliver by the numbers:

6

Tolliver, 29, has played for six teams in his six NBA seasons. His career has included stops with the San Antonio Spurs, Portland Trailblazers, Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves, Atlanta Hawks and Charlotte Bobcats. His longest tenure came in Minnesota, where he played 116 games. He also signed with the Miami Heat, but never appeared in a game for them.

6.1

Tolliver has started 53 out of 307 games he has played in. He is averaging 6.1 points and 3.7 rebounds in 20 minutes over his career.

11.2

Tolliver’s career player efficiency rating (PER), with 11 indicating a player “scrounging for minutes” and 13 a player “in the rotation.”

34

In 2009-10 with the Warriors, Tolliver scored a career-high 34 points against the Timberwolves, who promptly signed him after the season.

80.5

Tolliver took three-pointers on 80.5 percent of his field goal attempts with the Bobcats in 2013-14, a stark increase from his 44.2 percent career rate prior to last season.

102

In addition to taking three-pointers at career-high rates, Tolliver averaged career-bests in three-pointers made (102) and percentage (41.3) last season. Tolliver is a career 35.2 percent three-point shooter.
