Former Arizona Cardinals linebacker Karlos Dansby will travel to Nashville to announce the team’s second-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft on April 26.
The pick Dansby will be announcing is the first selection of the second round (33rd overall). The last time the Cardinals had the first selection of the second round, the team selected Dansby out of Auburn University in 2004.
Dansby, 37, played eight seasons with the Cardinals in three different stints with the team (2004-09, 2013 and 2017). Over his 14-year career, Dansby earned a total of 43 sacks and 20 interceptions, becoming only the fifth player in NFL history to record 40 sacks and 20 interceptions.
Dansby has yet to formally retire and had intentions to play last season before going unsigned. He last played in the NFL in 2017 with the Cardinals.
Dansby will be joined by former Cardinals fullback Larry Centers, who is scheduled to announce the Cardinals’ third-round selection.
