The Arizona Diamondbacks are bringing in pitcher Taylor Clarke from Triple-A Reno and sending down utility man Tim Locastro after he was called up nearly two weeks ago.
Clarke was rated as the No. 10 prospect in the D-backs system by MLB.com.
He was off to a bumpy start in Reno posting a 1-1 record and 7.36 ERA in three starts. Last season, he went 13-8 with 125 strikeouts in Reno.
Locastro was batting .364 in 11 at bats in his big league stint. He scored four runs, walked twice, stole two bases and was hit-by-pitch three times in just nine games.
Clarke is 25 years old, while Locastro is 26.
Locastro was originally brought up to replace injured catcher Alex Avila who was sent to the 10-day injured list.
Clarke will wear No. 45 for the D-backs.
