Larry Fitzgerald has been a staple around Arizona since he first arrived in the desert in 2004, and on Saturday he will continue one of his longest running events in the community.
The Cardinals star receiver will be hosting his 9th annual Celebrity Softball Game Weekend on Saturday, which helps support the First Down Fund, Fitzgerald’s charity that promotes reading proficiency in kids and aids those that have battled breast cancer.
The event will take place at Salt River Fields and will feature many different Cardinals players such as David Johnson, Chandler Jones, Josh Rosen and Terrell Suggs. Various other celebrities will also be participating, including Terrell Owens, Laila Ali, Richard Sherman and Deandre Ayton.
The gates open for the event at 5 p.m., and a home run derby will take place at 6 p.m. before the actual game kicks off an hour later.
Fans in attendance can donate to the St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance, and those who do will be entered into a raffle for many different prizes. The event will also feature free balloon artists and face painting for kids at the ballpark.
After the game, fans can attend the Double Play VIP After Party, which will be held at the W Scottsdale and feature Fitzgerald and a number of different celebrities from the game.
General admission to this event is free, and VIP tickets can be bought for $75. The after party will also help support the First Down Fund.
