That was fast: Rosen posts Dolphins picture right after being traded

Well, former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Josh Rosen didn’t wait long to show some excitement for his new team after being traded to the Miami Dolphins Friday.

Rosen posted on Instagram less than 15 minutes after ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news of Arizona sending Rosen to Miami for the 62nd overall selection in the 2019 NFL Draft and a 2020 fifth-round pick.

Speculation grew to an all-time high for Rosen potentially being dealt on Thursday when the Cardinals selected Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray No. 1 overall.

But no deal would come on day one and Cardinals general manager Steve Keim wasn’t willing to say the Rosen era in Arizona was over that night.

“The bottom line is Josh is a really good football player and we’re not going to get in the business of just letting good football players walk out of here,” he said.

Keim cited research the Cardinals did in the value of backup quarterbacks and his recent examples of dealing with a lack of depth at quarterback in the team’s 2014 playoff run.

“Attrition is real and you never know when you’re gonna need another [quarterback],” Keim said.

But ultimately, that deal did come. Eventually.

Reports came Thursday that the Dolphins were one of two teams to discuss a Rosen trade with the Cardinals. More reports on Friday highlighted Miami’s selection at No. 48, but the Dolphins ended up trading down to 62nd overall.

That’s where a deal was struck and the Cardinals drafted UMass wide receiver Andy Isabella with No. 62.

Rosen saw some criticism come his way earlier in the day when he unfollowed the Cardinals’ social media accounts and made some more noise on Instagram Friday.
