The Arizona State Sun Devils scheduled a home-and-home series with the Texas Longhorns for the 2032 and 2033 football seasons, the schools announced Friday.
ASU will host the first of the two matchups on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2032, at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe. The Sun Devils will travel to Austin, Texas, and play at Darrell K. Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2033.
The deal was made after ASU agreed to release a previously-scheduled 2021 game against Louisiana Lafayette so the Longhorns could instead play ULL. Arizona State has replaced that Sept. 4 contest with a game against Southern Utah.
“This agreement with the University of Texas provides ASU with yet another elite series with a Power 5 opponent,” said ASU vice president for university athletics Ray Anderson in a statement.
“The addition of Texas complements our future with LSU, Michigan State, Oklahoma State, Mississippi State and BYU. We have been working with the University of Texas on a potential series for a long time and we are very excited to make this announcement.”
The meeting between the Sun Devils and Longhorns is the first between the two schools in a regular season game.
Texas and ASU did, however, meet for the 2007 Holiday Bowl in San Diego, Calif., as the Longhorns came away victorious, 52-34.
