5 reasons why I am rooting for the Mavs

Mark Cuban He's a blowhard who complains way too much and wears shirts two sizes too small. He's also the guy you would want to own your team and you know it. Progressive. Think out loud. Loaded and not afraid to flash the cash in the name of winning. Most importantly he cares; his desire to win is not up for debate. Cassette deck Major League Baseball needs an mp3 owner like Cuban. I root for Dallas out of respect for how Cuban does it and out of jealousy because I want one just like him.

Dallas The Rangers lost the World Series. TCU was denied a chance to play for a national title. The city itself lost millions when awful weather became the story of the Super Bowl. They deserve a break.

Marion and KiddTheir exits from the Suns were uglier than the reviews for Hangover 2. So what. Put on your big boy pants and understand; when you're dealing with all those egos and all that money, the end is never a bouquet of flowers and a big bow at center stage. Marion was always George to Nash's John and Stoudamire's Paul. He got paid a fortune but seethed about respect he didn't deserve. It would be nice to see him get a ring. Kidd wasn't good enough to transition fans from one superstar era (Barkley) to another (Nash), but I'll root for him anyway.

The DecisionLeBron's talent almost requires your attention and respect. When somebody is that good at what they do it's almost hypnotizing. Then somebody snaps their fingers and you remember he screwed an entire city on national TV.
