After a 21-0 start to the season, Arizona State baseball is heading back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2016.

The Sun Devils will face Southern Miss (38-19) in the first round of Regional action. If they advance past the Golden Eagles, ASU will face the winner of regional host LSU (37-24) and Stony Brook (31-21).

For ASU, the team has slipped following their blistering start. The Sun Devils have lost five of their last seven games and fell to fifth-place in the Pac-12 standings.

A weak finish to the season has not been due to a lack of power hitting. Hunter Bishop and Spencer Torkelson have blasted 22 and 21 home runs, respectively, and as a team the Sun Devils lead the nation with 92 total quadruples.

ASU will try to recapture some of its early season magic in Baton Rouge on Friday. First pitch against Southern Miss is slated for 10 a.m. local time.
