Yasmany Tomas has been raking for the Triple-A Reno Aces, and now he’s got a Player of the Week Award to show for it.

The outfielder was awarded Pacific Coast League Player of the Week on Tuesday for the period spanning May 20 to May 26. In that span, the 28-year-old went 12-for-30 (.400) with 13 RBI, seven home runs and 10 runs scored. He led all of professional baseball in home runs during that time and tied Corpus Christi’s Joshua Rojas with 37 total bases.

The highlight performance for Tomas came last Monday when he hit four home runs in a single game and had eight RBI on the day.

Tomas is hitting .302 with 16 home runs and 42 RBI in 49 games played this year.

In 305 career major league games, Tomas has hit .268 with 48 home runs and 163 RBI. In 2016 alone, Tomas played 140 games and hit 31 home runs with 82 RBI and finishing the season with an .820 OPS. He hasn’t appeared in a regular season major league game since 2017.

Last week, the award was given to Tomas’ teammate, Kevin Cron, who is now with the D-backs.
