D-backs’ Chase Field named top 10 vegan-friendly ballpark

May 29, 2019, 1:51 PM | Updated: 2:12 pm

Nothing says summer like baseball, burgers and hot dogs. Right?

Well, maybe not so much.  According to a recent ranking by PETA, Chase Field is one of the top 10 most vegan-friendly ballparks in the country.

Options at the home of the Arizona Diamondbacks include vegan chicken wraps, vegan dogs, and a new burger being served at Paradise Valley Burger Co. called the “Camelback Burger.”

On it is a vegan patty, brown sugar, jalapeño relish, truffle ketchup, lettuce, avocado, herb mustard, cucumber and onion flakes.

So what will it take to get Chase Field higher on the list?  Well, perhaps a sponsorship. The Texas Rangers home at Globe Life Park had a vegan company parter with food vendors and offer multiple options, including tamales, chili, frito pies and nachos. Or an all-vegan concession stand could work, as Citi Field (home of the Mets) did, earning them the No. 2 spot on the ranking.
