The staff of ArizonaSports.com has compiled their list
of the top 25 Arizona sports stories of the year 2011.
We’ll be unveiling them over the next couple of weeks, all
leading up to the top story of 2011.

If you were to name the most talked about sporting events
on the calendar each year, chances are you’d name events
like the Super Bowl, the World Series, the NBA Finals or
the NCAA Basketball Tournament.

Off the top of your head, you probably wouldn’t name the
NFL Draft. But pound-for-pound, the NFL Draft is the most
talked-about sporting event each year. It starts during
football season, kicks into high gear after
the Super Bowl, and then continues for two and a half
months until late April. No other event has that kind of
legs.
