It didn’t take long in the 2019 MLB Draft for a player groomed in the state of Arizona to come off the board. Arizona State outfielder Hunter Bishop’s strong 2019 season led to the San Francisco Giants taking him 10th overall Monday.

The first day of the draft, which went 78 picks, featured more than Bishop when it came to the state representation. ASU teammate Alec Marsh went 70th overall to the Kansas City Royals, while the rival Arizona Wildcats saw two players, Cameron Cannon and Nick Quintana, get drafted 43rd and 47th, respectively.
