Coach Whisenhunt not ready to name a starting QB for Saturday

Want to know who the Arizona Cardinals will start at
quarterback Saturday against the Cincinnati Bengals? So do
we.
Arizona coach Ken Whisenhunt wasn’t in the mood to give
any clues Thursday after practice, saying he would not
comment on how the reps were divided between
Kevin Kolb and John Skelton.
“I think they’re both getting reps, they’re both working,
and we’ll make a decision based on when we get to the end
of the week seeing where everything is,” he said.
Fair enough.
Kolb, the presumed starter when healthy, is working his
way back after suffering a concussion two weeks ago
against the 49ers. He was unable to play in last week’s
win over the Browns, but is making progress, Whisenhunt
said.
Of course, any idea of Kolb playing Saturday is contingent
on him feeling up to it after the plane ride. That,
Whisenhunt said, is something to keep an eye on.
“You always worry about the effects of that,” Whisenhunt
said.
Whoever the QB ends up being, he will have a tough task in
taking on one of the NFL’s best defenses on the road. Like
the Cardinals, the Bengals are fighting to keep their
playoff hopes alive, with a win Saturday being a must.
