Phoenix Mercury forward DeWanna Bonner was named Western Conference Player of the Week after two 25-point games last week.

Bonner averaged 25 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in the two games played. She also went 50 percent (18-of-36) from the field and a perfect 10-of-10 in free throws.

In a loss against the Minnesota Lynx on June 6th, Bonner had 25 points and eight rebounds. On June 9th, she had another 25 points, seven rebounds and four assists in a 94-87 win against the Indiana Fever.

It marks the sixth time in Bonner’s career she has received Player of the Week honors, tying her with teammate Brittney Griner for the second-most such honors in franchise history.

Bonner has been one of the top players in the WNBA to start the season.

She leads the league in scoring (23.3 points) and player efficiency rating (26.8). She’s also averaging 8.8 rebounds per game and is a perfect 20-of-20 from the free throw line this season.

The Mercury will close out their three-game road trip by visiting the Chicago Sky on Tuesday.
