This ump appears upset at a baseball man for celebrating his big HR

Through one lens, it’s an incredibly emotional moment worth soaking in. Through another, it’s a cocky celebration.
That latter lens sucks.
Mississippi State faced off with Stanford in the NCAA Super Regionals on Sunday night, and with a win, the Bulldogs would go to Omaha for the College World Series.
Up 5-1 in the top of the ninth inning with two runners on, Mississippi State’s Elijah MacNamee stepped to the plate. The senior took what is going to wind up being his final swing at Dudy Noble Field — the home of Bulldogs baseball — and ripped an absolute bomb to left to all but seal his team’s ticket to the big dance.

As one would expect with that emotion, MacNamee just about lost his mind after contact. This was far less “hot dogging” and more about what that missile meant for his team. It might even be bigger for MacNamee after he wasn’t selected in the 2019 MLB Draft.
But that didn’t stop the first base umpire from appearing to be extremely upset, motioning at MacNamee to get going on his run.
Rightfully so, the announcing crew covered the energy MacNamee showed in a positive manner. We share their enthusiasm, along with MacNamee delightfully ignoring the umpire.
