Arizona State junior running back Eno Benjamin should rack up quite a few accolades in the 2019 season, and he’s already got a few under his belt in mid-June.

Benjamin received preseason All-American Second Team honors and also got a nod on the preseason Pac-12 All-Conference team.

The 5-foot-10 back is coming off a monster 2018 that perhaps went under the radar while Herm Edwards went through his first season as the Sun Devils’ head coach. Benjamin rushed for 1,642 yards and 16 touchdowns while also catching 35 balls for 263 yards and two more touchdowns. That was a conference-leading total in rushing yards and he recorded over 100 in nine different games.

Benjamin is not alone on the conference list.

Linebacker Merlin Robertson, defensive lineman Jermayne Lole, safety Aashari Crosswell and kicker Brandon Ruiz earned second team nominations while center Cohl Cabral, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk and linebacker Darien Butler are on the third team. Cornerback Chase Lucas on the fourth team makes it nine total Sun Devils earning preseason Pac-12 All-Conference honors.

Arizona State’s season kicks off on Aug. 29 at home against Kent State.
