Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton looked good against a tough Cardinals defense, especially considering he's a rookie. Dalton went 18-for-31 on Sunday with 154 yards and two touchdowns. He did not throw an interception. This has to be one of the top plays of the year. Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Jerome Simpson literally flipped over Cardinals linebacker Daryl Washington for a touchdown in the first half of the game. Jaw dropping. Once again, Larry Fitzgerald became a monster. The Bengals defense got a bit relaxed when covering Fitz and he went off for 105 yards and a touchdown in just six catches. Skelton seems to ignore him for a while, but Fitz always shows up when his team needs him the most. Somone has a lot of thinking to do.
The Arizona Cardinals comeback was all but complete. With just a few minutes left in the game, quarterback John Skelton lofted a pass to a wide open Early Doucet. The pass was there, the crowd was starting to react and Doucet tripped. Football is a game of inches, but sometimes it's a game of accidents. Sunday was one of those days for the Cards. John Skelton nearly did it again. After playing a terrible first half, he looked more alive the longer the game went on. After posting just 56 total yards of offense in the first half, the Cards went off for 260 offensive yards in the second half and 16 unanswered points in the fourth quarter. Skelton finished the game 23-of-44 with 297 yards, two touchdowns and three picks.
