Phoenix Suns guard Goran Dragic: ‘Every team is an option’ after this season

Jan 26, 2015, 3:44 AM | Updated: 4:03 am

Phoenix Suns guard Goran Dragic will have the ability to become a free agent at the end of the 2014-15 season — and while his present focus is on getting the Suns to the playoffs, he said he plans to keep all of his options open for 2015-16.

“Every team in the NBA is an option to me, because it is a privilege to play for any team in the NBA,” Dragic told the Houston Chronicle on Friday.

“When the time comes I’m going to sit down with my family and my agent and try to make the best decision for myself.”

Dragic added he won’t weigh those options until the end of the season. “Right now is no time to think about the free agency because I want to be focused. I want to help my teammates,” he told the Chronicle.

Dragic is in his second stint with the Suns after signing a four-year, $34 million contract with the team before the 2012-13 season began, but his contract gives him the opportunity to opt out at the end of this season. He is averaging 16.7 points and four assists per game this season.
