The rewards for former Arizona State outfielder Hunter Bishop just continue to add up.

After an insanely productive season as a Sun Devil, Bishop was named a semi-finalist for the Golden Spikes Award, and was later selected No. 10 overall by the San Francisco Giants in last week’s MLB Draft.

Now, Bishop has more honor to his name.

The American Baseball Coaches Association’s All-American team was released Tuesday, and Bishop was selected as an outfielder for its first team, joining JJ Bleday, Jake Sanford, Peyton Burdick and Jake Mangum at the outfield position.

Bishop batted .344/.482/.757 with 22 home runs and 63 RBIs this season with the Sun Devils.

Other locals appeared on the All-American team as well.

Bishop’s teammates Spencer Torkelson was named to the second team as one of two starting first basemen, the other being Bobby Seymour of Wake Forest.

Torkelson hit .353/.449/.702 with 22 home runs and 65 RBIs last season, and is projected to go even higher than Bishop in next year’s MLB Draft.

Nick Quintana of the University of Arizona also made an appearance on the third team, as he was one of two third basemen honored, the other being Davis Wendzel of Baylor.

Quintana hit .342/.462/.626 with 15 home runs and 77 RBIs last season with the Wildcats, and was drafted 47th overall by the Detriot Tigers in the second round of the 2019 MLB Draft. Quintana has signed for a value of $1.58 million with the organization.
