Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Christian Kirk is expected to be a major part of the team’s offense when the season begins.

Last year, Kirk was one of the only bright spots on the Cardinals offense in what was the worst offense in the NFL.

With new head coach Kliff Kingsbury and rookie quarterback Kyle Murray, the offense is anticipated to make a big turn around from last season.

That’s part of the reason why NFL.com’s Marc Sessler predicts Kirk will be a first time Pro Bowler in 2019 for the Cardinals.

“I’m betting on Kingsbury and Murray churning out a fleet of big-yardage targets led by the frisky Kirk.”

The offense that is expected from Kingsbury is an air-raid type college playbook. Something that Kirk should be familiar with from his time at Texas A&M.

Sessler also mentions that Kirk can be a deep threat and that this offense has the potential to showcase that well.

His speed is a major part of what makes him a threat down the field.

Kirk has shown flashes that he can be the guy when called upon.

In Week 8 Kirk had the game-winning touchdown against the San Francisco 49ers with less than a minute to go in the game helping seal one of just three wins the team saw in 2018.

Kirk in his rookie season had 3 touchdowns and 590 receiving yards before going down with a broken foot in Week 13.

“Creating separation, you have to know that the guy in front of you is not going to cover me,” Kirk said on how he uses his speed.

Kingsbury mentioned during minicamp that not only does Murray have a solid grasp on the offense, Kirk is right up there with him.

“Christain Kirk has a good feel for it as well,” he said. “The terminology and concepts are really similar to what they’ve done before.”

His knowledge of the offense’s playbook this early, and his quickness down the field, should bode well for the wideout as the season creeps closer.
