Two first-round picks will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Arizona Diamondbacks take on the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night.
Quarterback Kyler Murray, who was selected No. 1 overall by the Arizona Cardinals, and Arizona Coyotes defenseman Victor Soderstrom will throw out the first pitch at 6:30 p.m., the D-backs announced Monday.
Murray was selected by the Cardinals after the team had a dismal 3-13 record last season earning them the first overall pick.
Murray as a junior with Oklahoma won the Heisman trophy after putting up 5,362 total yards and 54 touchdowns while completing 69% of his passes.
Other Cardinals rookies will also attend and take part in a pregame recognition before the first pitch.
Alongside Murray will be Soderstrom, who the Coyotes selected No. 11 overall in the 2019 NHL Draft after the team traded up.
Arizona gave the Philadelphia Flyers their No. 14 overall pick and 45th pick to draft the defenseman.
The 6-foot, 183-pound Soderstrom is from Sweden and played for Brynas in the SHL and SuperElit.
This marks the third time in four years the Coyotes have selected a defenseman in the first round.
