Herm Edwards is having a really good June.
Edwards had landed seven commitments to Arizona State’s football program in the month alone. That number is now up to eight, and this one could be the most important and biggest of all them.
DeaMonte Trayanum, a four-star running back recruit from Ohio, committed to ASU Wednesday night, jumping the number of total recruits in the 2020 class to 11.
Trayanum was the No. 5 overall recruit in the state of Ohio in the 2020 class and ranked as the best running back, per Sun Devil Source. At Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron last season, Trayanum rushed for 1,313 yards and 26 touchdowns on 106 attempts.
The to-be high school senior also had offers from Wisconsin, Penn State and Ohio State.
ASU does not have any running back recruits coming in this season, so Trayanum could expect to see a heavy workload in his freshman year as current running back Eno Benjamin is widely expected to be a highly-valued commodity in the 2020 NFL Draft.
