Report: Suns may try to move Isaiah Thomas instead of Goran Dragic before trade deadline

Rumors and reports about trade decisions the Suns could make off the court regarding their three point guards rotate as often as the players themselves do on the court.
While some have reported the Suns could trade Goran Dragic before he reaches free agency at the end of the season, ESPN’s Marc Stein said via Twitter Friday night the Suns are “more apt to try to move Isaiah Thomas before (the) trade deadline, to restore last season’s roster balance, rather than surrender Dragic.”
Thomas, a product of a sign-and-trade deal with the Sacramento Kings, has a four-year, $27 million contract with the Suns.
If Thomas gets traded, however, there is always still the chance Dragic could leave the team as a free agent at the end of the season, thus taking the Suns from three point guards to just one — Eric Bledsoe.
NBC’s Pro Basketball Talk’s Dan Feldman echoed this sentiment, and says Dragic would “fetch more in a trade than Thomas would,” though he does believe “Phoenix is exploring Thomas trades a little harder now.”
The NBA trade deadline is Thursday, Feb. 19.
