Trio of Cardinals earn Pro Bowl selections

Two veteran stalwarts, wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald and
safety Adrian Wilson, along with rookie punt returner
Patrick Peterson have earned NFC Pro Bowl nods for the
Arizona Cardinals.
While Pro Bowl trips have become customary for Fitzgerald
and Wilson, making their sixth and fifth appearances
respectively, it’s the selection of the up-and-coming
Peterson that proved the most gratifying for the Cards.
Peterson, who has an NFL-record tying four punt returns
for touchdowns as well as a league-high 636 punt return
yards, will be a welcomed addition to the NFC Pro Bowl
squad. His electrifying play has elicited much buzz this
season.
Defensive tackle Darnell Dockett was also selected as an
alternate, thanks to his remarkable play as of late.
Dockett has amassed a team-best 17 quarterback hits.
One shocking snub did emerge after Tuesday’s
announcements, and that is the omission of Calais
Campbell’s name from the list of Pro Bowlers. Campbell’s
proven to be a defensive force this season — which his
team-leading eight sacks attests.
The 2012 Pro Bowl will be held on January 29, 2012 at
Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, HI.
