The Fort Wayne TinCaps are celebrating the hit TV comedy “The Office” on Friday and dressing up for the occasion by wearing a uniform straight from the Dwight Schrute collection.

The collared-shirt jersey also includes the TinCaps logo on the right breast and “Bears. Beets. Fort Wayne TinCaps” on the right sleeves — getting copyright clearance to write “Battlestar Galactica” might’ve been a chore.

The TinCaps are the Single-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres, and their uniform selection plays off the look of Schrute, whose character rarely strayed from dressing in a less-than-appealing yellow shirt with a dijon-mustard-esque matching tie.

It is not known whether the theme night in Indiana will include any beet menu items as a hat-tip to the fictional assistant to the regional manager. At the very least, the evening will provide great opportunities for meme-making and references by the local broadcast crew.
