The Arizona Diamondbacks found themselves down a man early on against the Los Angeles Dodgers Wednesday night.

Outfielder David Peralta left the game with right shoulder soreness after hitting a deep fly ball in the third inning, the team announced.

He was removed from the lineup following the at-bat in exchange for Tim Locastro.

According to D-backs manager Torey Lovullo, Peralta will have an MRI on his right shoulder in Phoenix on Thursday.

This isn’t Peralta’s first issue with his shoulder this season.

In May, the outfielder exited against the Pittsburgh Pirates with trap tightness in his right shoulder.

Peralta managed to play four out of the next five games before exiting again with the injury. He was then placed on the 10-day IL with inflammation in his AC joint.

When healthy, Peralta has proven to be a vital piece of the offense.

Entering play Wednesday, Peralta sat in third on the team in hits (85), tied for fifth in homers (9), fourth in RBIs (44) and fifth in runs scored (39).

In the series opener against the Dodgers on Tuesday, Peralta went 3-for-5 with  three singles and a run scored. He was the lone D-back to record three hits in the outing.
