The Diamondbacks have announced outfielder David Peralta will be placed on the 10-day injured list with right AC joint inflammation.
Peralta injured his shoulder during Wednesday night’s game versus the Dodgers when he hit a deep fly ball in the third inning. He spent time on the IL earlier this season with a similar injury he suffered during a series against Pittsburgh.
Per D-backs manager Torey Lovullo, the team will call-up Domingo Leyba to take Peralta’s place.

“Very unfortunate that we’re going to be missing David for a period of time,” Lovullo said.
The loss of Peralta is a big one for the D-backs, who are fighting for the second NL Wild Card spot.
Entering Wednesday’s game, the 31-year-old outfielder ranked in the top five of most hitting categories for the team.
In Tuesday’s game he showed just how valuable he can be for the club finishing the night 3-for-5 with three singles and a run scored.
Leyba has limited experience at the big league level, batting just 1-for-4 in his major league career.
Peralta is the second D-backs starter to be placed on the IL in recent days. Right-hander Taylor Clarke will also be down after suffering from left back inflammation against the Dodgers Tuesday evening.
Lovullo said he hopes Peralta returns immediately following the All-Star break on July 12, but wouldn’t commit to that being a certainty.
“We just felt like at this point it’d be the best decision to get him off his feet and combine it with the All-Star break,” Lovullo said. “We want to get him to his true David form where he carries this team.”
The D-backs will host the Colorado Rockies on Friday at Chase Field for the first of the three game series before the All-Star break.
