Larry Fitzgerald wants to finish season on a high note

Larry Fitzgerald is tired of losing.

As he preps for the Cardinals’ Sunday matchup against the
Seattle Seahawks, Fitzgerald is focusing on ending this
season on a high note.

After his team’s rocky 1-6 start to the season, Fitzgerald
acknowledged it would be quite the accomplishment for the
Cardinals to finish with an 8-8 record.

Fitzgerald also feels that entering the offseason with a
.500 season under their belt would boost the team’s
psyche.

“If you’re looking at moral victories, it’s something that
you can hang your hat on and say that we’re improving and
moving forward,” Fitzgerald added.

The Cardinals will also be looking to resolve the question
of who will serve as their quarterback next season.

With playoff aspirations out of the equation, Fitzgerald
hopes injured QB Kevin Kolb won’t attempt an
early comeback from a concussion.

“Why take the risk of doing any further damage,”
Fitzgerald questioned. “That’s the thing that’s tough
about a concussion or a head injury is physically your
body feels like you can play but mentally, it’s tough. You
take another hit, it sets you back. It’s not something you
want to play with.”

While Kolb said Wednesday he felt a growing comfort level
with the offense, Fitzgerald said building the chemistry
with his new quarterback was slow from the very start.

“The first time he was actually able to practice was 10
days into training camp,” Fitzgerald said. “He started off
behind the eight ball even further than he could have,
even if he was able to practice opening day of training
camp. So, it was pushed back. And with injuries, it
definitely slowed it down for all of us.”

Fitzgerald is eager to foster his relationship with a
healthy Kolb this offseason.

“I am looking forward to getting to work out with him
every single day and the mini camps and the OTA’s – I
think that rapport will really help us.”

In the meantime, Fitzgerald’s sole focus is on winning
Sunday’s game against the Seahawks.

“We sit right now, with the same record, playing for the
same thing — just pride at this point. They’ve beaten us
three straight times, too, so it’s about that time. You
are just tired of losing.”
