Jake Lamb’s first home run since June 2018 gives D-backs a lead

Jul 6, 2019, 10:11 PM | Updated: 10:14 pm

Jake Lamb hit his first home run of the season, his first home run since June 25, 2018 and his first home run at Chase Field since June 14, 2018.

The sixth-inning shot gave the Diamondbacks a 3-1 lead over the Rockies.

The opposite field home run by Lamb could be a sign that the former all-star third baseman has found his swing after recovering from multiple injuries.

A shoulder injury against the Cubs in 2018 sidelined Lamb for the end of 2018, while a quad strain forced him to miss 76 games in 2019.

Lamb had his best game of the season on Saturday going 2-for-3 with one walk. He also singled in his at-bat following the home run, sending a laser to left center.

Both of Lamb’s hits were of the opposite field variety as his home traveled 384 feet over the left field wall.

Lamb has seen time a first base and third base this season.

The home run gives him 76 in his career. This is his sixth season in the majors, all coming as a member of the D-backs.
