The Arizona Diamondbacks organization announced their minor league player and pitcher for the month of June.
Triple-A Reno infielder Wyatt Mathisen and Single-A Kane County pitcher Levi Kelly each took home awards, posting some impressive numbers for the D-backs affiliates.
Mathisen hit .348 on the month with five doubles, 11 home runs, 28 RBI and 25 runs scored in 25 games.
The 25-year-old was drafted in 2012 by the Pirates and was signed by the D-backs following the 2018 season.
His 21 home runs on the season rank third on the Aces behind Kevin Cron and Yasmany Tomas and ninth in the Pacific Coast League.
Mathisen posted four consecutive multi-hit games batting 10-for-14 for a .714 batting average from June 12-15.
Kelly shut down the Midwest League for the Kane County Cougars allowing just five earned runs in 25.1 inning on the month.
In five starts for the Cougars in June, Kelly struck out 31 batters while posting a 1.78 ERA, 0.71 WHIP and .136 opponent batting average.
He was an eighth-round draft pick by the D-backs out of IMG Academy in Florida in 2018.
