The Arizona Diamondbacks are getting one of the main fixtures of their offense back in the lineup.
The team announced Wednesday morning outfielder David Peralta has been reinstated from the 10-day injured list after missing time due to right AC joint inflammation.
“I think it’s the right time to come back,” Peralta told the media ahead of Arizona’s game against the Orioles. “The important thing is my shoulder feels good and that’s all that matters. If it feels good, I can play the way I want to.
“I’m excited about today. It was a lot of time off to get to the right place. I think we’re good right now.”
Following last night’s game against the Baltimore Orioles, Arizona optioned infielder Ildemaro Vargas to Triple-A Reno to make room for Peralta.
Peralta last played July 3 in a loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Even missing time due to injury, Peralta has still been a contributor to a team in the thick of an NL Wild Card race.
This season, the outfielder is batting .289 with 85 hits, nine homers, and 44 RBIs.
He trails only All-Star Ketel Marte on the team in doubles with 24 and has scored 39 runs.
Vargas has appeared in 70 games this season with the D-backs. The infielder is batting .260 with five homers and 20 RBI.
Catch Peralta back in action Wednesday live at 12:40 p.m. on ESPN 620 AM.
