Map shows Cardinals fan base goes beyond the state of Arizona

The Arizona Cardinals are reaching fans beyond just their home state.

According to a map created by Vivid Seats and Opendorse, the Cardinals have some popularity in counties in Colorado, New Mexico, Montana, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Nebraska and California.

As far as Arizona goes, the Cardinals fandom is strong in all 15 counties in the state. The map also revealed that cornerback Patrick Peterson is the state’s favorite player.

New Mexico had five counties that favorited the Cardinals and Peterson, with most of the counties close to the Arizona border.

The state of Montana has four counties there were found to be Cardinals fans as well.

Two counties each in Colorado, Idaho and Utah favorited the Cardinals and/or Peterson.

California had one county near the border of Nevada that preferred the Cardinals as their favorite NFL team too.

The farthest place that is part of the Cardinals fandom was Holt County in Nebraska.

It’s no surprise Peterson is the most popular player among Cardinals fans in every county.

The 29-year-old has been with the team since being drafted fifth overall in the 2011 NFL Draft. He has collected 23 career interceptions and has never missed a game in his NFL career.
